SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS.
There are few places in the world where you have the opportunity to snorkel with wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Egypt's Sataya Reef, also known as the Dolphin Reef, is one such place.
Breathtakingly beautiful. Both underwater, through the magnificent coral reefs, the thousands of species of fish, underwater animals and the magical dolphins. As well as above water, through the 360-degree views over the infinite crystal clear, blue turquoise sea and the fabulous sunrises and sunsets.
For a week we will be guests of the Sataya Reef. It is the natural habitat of several groups of dolphins, who come there almost daily of their own free will to rest, play and raise their young. When the dolphins are in the reef, we snorkel with them several times a day. Of course with great respect and without touching them.
But YOU will be touched by them. In your heart. In your soul. The magic of encounters with the dolphins is indescribable. It is something you have never experienced before, and will remember for the rest of your life. Effortless and abundant. Relaxed and peaceful. Playful and at home.
THE DOLFINS.
The dolphins that live in the Sataya Reef are the spinner dolphins, also known as long-nosed dolphins. Very occasionally a few large bottlenose dolphins (bottlenose dolphins) also join the spinners.
Spinner dolphins are about 2 meters long and can be recognized by their long thin snouts. They are graceful, agile, fast and playful. They are called spinners because they frequently jump out of the water, spinning several times on their axis, with visible pleasure.
During the night, the dolphins are in the deep open sea to hunt and have a good meal. Early in the morning, they come to the calm reef almost daily. There to rest, play and raise their young. Late afternoon they leave the reef, rested and ready for another night of hunting.
Spinner dolphins are social, move in groups and are naturally very curious. Sometimes they are resting, moving calmly and peacefully through the water. The serenity you experience when you are with them then is very special. Other times they are in a playful mood. They jump, play and chase each other, frequently inviting you to join in their play.
Because they communicate with you. And you will always understand what they say, want or ask. Sometimes they come swimming right next to you and deliberately make eye contact. That's heartwarming. You are seen. From universal love and respect.
THE RIF.
The Sataya Reef is located in southern Egypt, about 10 km off the coast in the Red Sea. It extends nearly 5 km in length, and has a heart-shape when viewed from the air.
The long reef forms a sheltered lagoon (only 4-10 meters deep on average), where large groups of spinner dolphins visit almost daily. In the beautiful coral reefs, thousands of species of fish and other underwater animals can be discovered.
The water is crystal clear, clean and beautiful. And has a wonderful temperature between 24 and 29 degrees. It is also tremendously salty, which therefore gives great buoyancy and makes snorkeling in this area very relaxing.
In addition, Sataya is a power place, with a very pure but high energy. You can more easily receive healing and insights there. You will also experience that just by being there for a week, you get closer to yourself and your heart.
Finally, the reef is also called the "Pearl of Mother Earth. And has a very beautiful spot: Shallow Place (also called Crystal Temple or Womb of Sataya). Here it is so shallow that you can stand on the sandy bottom. The dolphins even sometimes give birth to their young here.
DEALING WITH THE DOLPHINS.
With such love and respect the dolphins treat each other as well as us. So we feel it is also very important to treat them and their habitat with equal love and respect.
So we don't chase them, we don't touch them*, we don't lure them. We don't jump in the water like crazy when we see them. We are guests with them for a whole week, we are not in a hurry. And since this place is also a resting place for the dolphins, we don't swim with them during certain hours. We always wait for the right moments to enter the water with each other. Shwaya shwaya.
The dolphins come to the reef on their own initiative, so there may be times when they are not there for a day. That makes the encounters with the dolphins so magical, they choose themselves whether they want to meet you, how long they swim next to you, and how they want to have contact with you. Sometimes you swim next to them in peace, other times they are playful and invite you to join them.
*Touching wild animals disturbs their natural habitat, in addition, we can thus transmit diseases when we touch their sensitive skin.
DOLPHINS AND THEIR MAGIC.
Dolphins are also called the Angels of the Sea. Once you meet them, you see, understand and feel why. The universal love you feel is so pure, grand and unprecedented.
