My name is Marijke Krekels. I live with the sweetest dog Bacho in the south of the Netherlands. I am a photographer. And I organize dolphin trips.

I didn't know I had a dream until this dream spontaneously came along. My sister had booked a dolphin trip in 2018, and when she shared this with me, I knew, "this is my dream, I'm going with you.

When we arrived at the Sataya Reef and the tour guide said to me "welcome home Marijke," I started to cry, because yes this felt like my home. A life-changing week followed and immediately tasted like more. Six months later I got on the boat again and that week brought me life-changing insights, but above all so much joy, love and connection. And a seed was planted ...

JUST BE YOU.

Because of the pandemic and personal circumstances, I couldn't go for several years. But I knew, as soon as my situation allows, I'll be back on that boat, back home.

The first two trips were guided trips, which includes; with meditations, mantra chanting, sharing circles, body work, etc. The two trips I did in 2023 were unaccompanied, or in other words no travel organization or spiritual guidance. Just joined boats that still had room for a solo traveler. These trips were very different, but the encounters with the dolphins, the peace and serenity of the reef, were unchanged MAGIC.

And the seed that had already been planted in my mind in 2019 was given lots of water and germinated in those weeks. It was time. For my own journey. A journey that is not guided, that has no spiritual program. A journey in which everything is allowed to arise. A journey in which ANYONE can be themselves.

FOR EVERYONE.

So this journey is for ANYONE. Whether you are into spirituality, or not at all. Just for ANYONE who loves dolphins, who loves the underwater world, who loves sun and sea. For ANYONE who has secretly been dreaming about this for a long time, but didn't know it was within reach. For ANYONE who is looking for depth, stillness and transformation and also for ANYONE who just wants to relax, enjoy and play.

But not entirely without guidance is this trip. My bachelor's degree in Tourism & Recreation that I earned from NHVT in 2003 is finally coming in handy. It seems like all the puzzle pieces of my life are falling together.

Fifteen years ago, I became a photographer because I wanted to make people happy. By giving them something lasting for the rest of their lives. And let that be exactly one of the motivations for organizing this dolphin trip. Making people happy. Making people experience love and connection. Giving people something they will remember for the rest of their lives. A dream that I can fulfill for many. And that is an indescribably magical feeling.

But I don't do this alone, below I lovingly introduce the rest of my team to you.

MEET SAYED.

Sayed does not like to be in the spotlight, but because of his role at Sataya Dolphin Safari, he deserves to be properly introduced.

Sayed has worked as a snorkeling guide in the Sataya Reef for 12 years. And I got to know him as a snorkeling guide during my first trips in 2018 and 2019. However during the pandemic he stopped being a snorkel guide and decided to do what he had studied for in his younger years , which was studying law in Cairo. And since the pandemic he has been working as a lawyer in Quseir.

When we saw each other again in Egypt in 2023 and I told him I wanted to start organizing my own trips, he immediately said, "Then I'll take time off as a lawyer, and go with you as a snorkeling guide on your trips, and I'll also arrange everything in Egypt for you."

So he is, among other things, my colleague, my right hand man, a team leader of the crew and guides, my translator and lawyer and a good friend.

Sayed is a quiet, cheerful man, with a lot of love for the Red Sea, for Sataya and for the dolphins. Watching him swim underwater and play with dolphins shows that he is one of them. A joy to watch. Sataya is his home. Thanks to his years of experience, he can tell you a lot about the reef and its underwater inhabitants, and during the trip he is the man to go to with all your questions about the world under the horizon.

Safety and respect are his top priorities. But in addition, he does everything possible to ensure that the participants do not lack anything and can enjoy the trip of a lifetime.

THE TEAM.

Sayed will not be the only guide during our trips, in addition to him, two other guides will accompany the group to provide the best underwater experiences, always keeping safety of each guest and respect for the dolphins in mind.

And Hassan and Yassen are these two other snorkeling guides.

By having a regular team, the atmosphere on the boat is always pleasant, we know each other through and through, and we are a team of friends. With each of us bringing different qualities with us.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our guides, we can offer additional free activities such as night snorkeling, gabana (Egyptian coffee ritual), dance nights, campfire, shisha, etc.
