What you love, you will protect.

MEETING DOLPHINS WITH RESPECT.

The way dolphins live together in peace and harmony is an inspiration to humans. That is why we always approach them and their environment with awareness and deep respect. We organize these trips solely out of love for dolphins and to share this love with our participants.

Every time we sail into Sataya, it feels like we are entering a sacred place.

The water becomes calmer, bluer, and crystal clear. And then it happens: the first dolphins appear alongside the boat. They move as if they are dancing, synchronized, playful, and completely at ease. No fear, no hesitation. Only pure harmony. At that moment, everyone feels it:

We are guests in their world.

SATAYA: A PLACE WHERE DOLPHINS CHOOSE TO LIVE.

Dolphins don't come to Sataya because someone lures, feeds, or chases them. They come because they want to. Sometimes they stay in the lagoon from sunrise to sunset, playing with each other or resting in groups. And sometimes they are gone for a day, because they stay in the deep sea or want to visit another reef. That makes it extra special when they are there, because they choose to be here themselves.

The Sataya Reef is large (5 km long) and consists of two lagoons. The boats are moored in the first lagoon, and 90% of the time, the dolphins also choose to be there, where the people are.

And when you're lying in the water, quiet, breathing through your snorkel, and a dolphin decides to come to you and you swim face to face for a moment. Then you feel the magic. You feel that the dolphins choose whether they want to swim with you, how long they want to swim with you, and how they want to swim with you. Andwe just go with the flow. And if they don't feel like it, they're gone, faster than any snorkeler or boat.

THE TRUTH: 100% ECO-FRIENDLY DOES NOT EXIST.

Yes, we fly to Egypt. Yes, the boats run on diesel.
So no, our trips are not 100% earth-friendly.

But Sataya is a protected nature reserve where visitor numbers are regulated. And perhaps the most important aspect of ecotourism is awareness.

Because something special happens when you swim alongside a wild dolphin. You feel respect. Wonder. Connection. And then comes responsibility. What you love, you will protect.
And you are not alone in this. The local crew, for whom Sataya is not only a source of work and income, but also their pride, share this sentiment. They work with immense pleasure and love. And they are extremely aware of how valuable this ecosystem is. So they protect it just as fiercely.

Our briefings are therefore comprehensive and honest. We not only explain what you need to do, but above all why. And on every trip, we hear from participants that our way of traveling—with respect, tranquility, and awareness—is exactly what they appreciate so much.

HOW WE TRAVEL WITH A SOFT FOOTPRINT.

To protect the dolphins and the ocean, we work with these clear and loving guidelines, among others:

  • Never touch the dolphins (or the fish/coral). It disturbs their behavior and their sensitive skin can pick up diseases.

  • Use as few sunscreen and skincare products as possible. And if you do use them, only use coral-friendly products that are 100% natural and biodegradable.

  • Bring a reusable water bottle to avoid disposable plastic.

  • Boats are not allowed to use anchors in the reef. They are moored to fixed anchor points so that the seabed and reef are not damaged.

  • Strict rules for snorkeling/freediving . Whether the dolphins are sleeping or playing, we follow clear guidelines to give them plenty of space.

ECOTOURISM: OUR STORY, THEIR WORLD.

We know we cannot change the whole world. We can only guide, inspire, and educate our own participants. But we take that part, our circle of influence, very seriously.

Sataya is not a destination you simply visit. It is an encounter between two worlds.

A place where you can become part of the rhythm of the ocean for a moment, at the invitation of the dolphins themselves. And what may, just like for us, mark the beginning of a new kind of love for the ocean.

Let us be the guardians of the sea, and let dolphins inspire generations to come.

In order to contribute something extra, in addition to raising awareness, promoting love for and connection with the ocean, we donate a portion of the travel sum to the following charities:

SOS Dolphin, World Animal Protection, WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation), Red Sea Project, and Dolphin Project.

And we encourage any form of sponsorship of these organizations.
