There is no WiFi at sea, but you will find a better connection.

THE BOAT.

The boat we take to Sataya Reef is not just any boat. It is a large luxury yacht, 30 meters long and 8 meters wide. The boat is very luxurious, comfortable, and equipped with all modern conveniences.

The boat has four decks. The sleeping cabins are located on the lower deck. You will share a cabin with a travel companion. Each cabin has two single beds, a private bathroom, and air conditioning. But if you prefer to sleep under the beautiful starry sky on one of the upper decks, that is certainly possible.

The saloon is located on the first deck, where we will eat and where you can relax or play games. There is also an outdoor deck on this deck from which you can jump directly into the sea. And from where we will board the zodiacs (small motorboats). With these, we will visit the dolphins and the beautiful reefs.

This deck is also the wet area, which is where you dry off before going to another part of the boat.

The second deck is the shade deck, with sun loungers and benches, ideal for relaxing after a wonderful dive with the dolphins, reading a book, chatting, listening to music, etc.

Finally, the top deck is the sun deck, where you can soak up the sun's rays and enjoy a 360-degree view of the beautiful reef and the Red Sea.

LUXURY & COMFORT.

Own space.

With four floors on the boat, there is more than enough space for everyone. In this video, you can see how spacious the boat is (after all, images say more than words). In addition, you have the vastness and infinity of the sea around you for a whole week, which creates a great sense of space and freedom. Everyone will be able to find their own place for those necessary moments of solitude.

Crew.

The boat's crew consists of about 10-12 men who not only ensure our safety, but also make sure we have everything we need. The service they provide is unparalleled. And beyond their work duties, they are more than open to playing games, chatting with you, and laughing with you countless times. Alongside the dolphins, the crew is a key element that makes this trip so special.

Food and drink.

The chef with his incredibly important task: filling our stomachs. But he doesn't just fill our stomachs three times a day, he also fills our hearts, because this food is absolutely delicious. Three times a day, a varied buffet. Vegetarian, meat, and fish. Fruit, snacks, tea, coffee, water, and soft drinks are unlimited and available at any time of the day. To protect the environment, we ask you to bring a water bottle that you can fill with water on the boat. No alcohol will be served during the boat trip.

Reach.

On the mainland of Egypt, your Dutch SIM card will no longer have reception. During our drive to the port, I will therefore provide a hotspot with my Egyptian number so that you can let your loved ones know that you have landed safely. Once we are at sea, even an Egyptian SIM card will hardly work. So that means a week without a phone. This may feel scary and uncomfortable. But once you are there, you will realize that this is a great gift to yourself. No distractions, you are completely present in the here and now. This adds an extra dimension to this special journey. In case of emergency, a phone number of the crew will be provided for your loved ones at home.

Seasick.

Some people get seasick, others don't. Actually, the only time you can get seasick is when sailing to and from Sataya Reef. It can be calm, with no wind or waves, but it can also be a bumpy, windy ride. Because we have already spent a night sleeping on the boat in the harbor, your body has already become somewhat accustomed to it. So, in our experience, most people don't have too much trouble. If you think you are prone to seasickness, we recommend bringing travel sickness tablets with you.

Once we are in the reef, we will no longer be sailing and will be securely moored with four anchors, and there will be virtually no swell.

Electricity.

There is power on board, 220 volts with a standard plug. So you can charge your equipment, such as your camera, on the boat.

Sun and shade.

The boat has plenty of shaded and sunny spots, so you can sit or lie down wherever you want and whatever suits your skin type. We recommend using as little sunscreen as possible during the trip to protect the underwater world (or use coral-friendly sunscreen if necessary). When snorkeling, we recommend wearing a UV-resistant shirt and shorts or leggings if necessary.
