There is no WiFi at sea, but you will find a better connection.

THE BOOT.

The boat we take to the Sataya Reef is not just any boat. It is a large luxury yacht, measuring 30 meters long and 8 meters wide. The boat is very luxurious, comfortable and fully equipped.

The boat has four floors. On the lower deck are the sleeping cabins. You share a cabin with a traveling companion. Each cabin has two single beds, a private bathroom and air conditioning. But if you prefer to sleep under the beautiful starry sky on one of the upper decks, that's certainly possible.

On the first deck is the saloon, where we will eat and where you can relax or play games. Also on this deck is an outside deck from where you can jump directly into the sea. And from where we will board the zodiacs (small motor boats). With these we will visit the dolphins and the beautiful reefs.

This deck is also the wet area, or this is where you dry off before going to another part of the boat.

The second deck is the shade deck, with deck chairs and benches, ideal for relaxing after a nice swim with the dolphins, reading a book, chatting, listening to music, etc.

And finally, the top deck is the sun deck, to perhaps let the necessary sun rays warm your skin and have a 360-degree view of the beautiful reef and Red Sea.

LUXURY & COMFORT.

Own space.

Because of the boat's four floors, there is more than enough room for everyone. In this video you can see how spacious the boat is (after all, pictures say more than words). In addition, having the vastness and infinity of the sea around you for a week makes for a great sense of space and freedom. Everyone will be able to find his/her place for the necessary moments with himself/herself.

Crew.

The crew of the boat consists of about 10-12 men who not only take care of our safety, but also make sure we don't lack anything. The service they provide is unparalleled. And beyond these labor duties of theirs, they are more than open to playing a game, chatting with you, and having untold laughs with you. Besides the dolphins, the crew is a key element that makes this trip so special.

Food and drink.

The chef with his unprecedentedly important job; filling our stomachs. But he not only fills our stomachs three times a day, but also our hearts, because what a feast this is. A varied buffet three times a day. Vegetarian, meat as well as fish. Fruit, snacks, tea, coffee, water and soft drinks are unlimited and available any time of the day. For environmental reasons, we ask that you bring a drinking bottle which you can fill with water on the boat. No alcohol will be served during the trip on the boat.

Range.

On the mainland of Egypt you no longer have coverage with your Dutch SIM card. During our drive to the port, I will therefore provide a hotspot with my Egyptian number, so you can let the home front know you have landed safely. Once we're at sea, an Egyptian SIM card hardly works either. So for a week without a phone. This may feel scary and uncomfortable. But once you are there, you find out that this is a great gift to yourself. No distractions, you are completely present in the here and now. That adds an extra dimension to this special journey. In case of an emergency, a crew phone number will be passed on for the home front.

seasick.

Some people get seasick, others don't. Actually, the only time you might get seasick is while sailing to and from the Sataya Reef. That can be windless, without waves and therefore very calm, but it can also be a bumpy windy ride. Because we've already slept on the boat for a night in port, your body has already gotten used to it. So our experience is that for most people it's not too bad. If you think you suffer a lot from seasickness, we recommend taking travel tablets.

Once we are in the reef, we are not sailing and are firmly anchored with 4 anchors and there will be virtually no swell.

Electricity.

On board there is power, 220volt with a regular plug. So your equipment such as camera can be charged on the boat.

Sun and shade.

The boat has both plenty of shade and sun spots. So you can sit/lay wherever you want and whatever suits your skin. We advise to use as little sunscreen as possible during the trip because of the underwater world (or possibly coral-friendly sunscreen). During snorkeling we recommend wearing a UV-resistant shirt and shorts/leggings.
